Run Coaching with Stephanie

Running + Me

I first fell in love with the sport of running back in 2012. Since then, running has been my companion through motherhood, moving cities, and navigating the complexities of life. My personal running goal is to find joy on the run and enjoyment in the process of chasing after big goals. I have participated in over 130 road races with the half marathon being my favorite (almost at 60!). I’m currently training for the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2023, which will be my 11th marathon.

As a lover of the sport and a forever student, I become a RRCA (Road Runner’s Club of America) certified coach in 2019 and a McMillan Running certfiied coach in 2023. My intention with becoming a run coach was to help others fall in love with the sport like I did and help people reach their goals without burning out or getting injured. In 2023, I joined Team Sugar Runs as a run coach and look forward to bringing my athletes an expanded sense of community. I, myself, have been a Team Sugar Runs athlete since 2018, so I’m excited to continue growing as an athlete and a coach with Team Sugar Runs.

As a run coach, I approach coaching with a human-first lens (there’s no one quite like you and training should reflect all that makes you unique!) that emphasizes collaboration and training in a way that leaves the athlete feeling strong and supported as they work toward their goals. Running is something we add to our lives and, as a coach, I do my best to make the training as fun as possible. The yoga practitioner and teacher is always in me, so athletes can expect me to encourage them to give breathwork, yoga, stretching, and mobility a try.
